DISKI – Dissertations on Artificial Intelligence

Aims & Scope

DISKI – Dissertations on Artificial Intelligence – Excellence in Computer Science

Today Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the fastest growing research areas in computer science with a strong impact on various fields of science, industry, and society. The DISKI series publishes excellent doctoral dissertations in all sub-fields of AI, ranging from foundational work on AI methods and theories to application-oriented theses. DISKI is supported by the AI section (Fachbereich KI) of the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V., GI) in order to establish a well-recognized archive of excellent AI dissertations from Germany.

DISKI was started by INFIX-Verlag in St. Augustin in 1991. Since 2006 AKA-Verlag in Berlin and IOS Press in Amsterdam co-publish DISKI dissertations for international recognition, documentation and distribution, supporting academic careers. By now over 340 volumes have been published in print and in electronic format.

The DISKI Series is supervised by an Editorial Board. Prof. Dr. Ralph Bergmann (Trier University) is Editor-in-Chief and recently took over this role from Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bibel.

Proposals for publications in this series are welcome. We publish approved dissertations (‘summa cum laude’ and ‘magna cum laude’) primarily in English language, but other languages are possible as well. The copyright remains with the author and authors can deposit their raw versions on university and institutional servers and upload to social networks, provided that a link to the registered publication is made. Books are registered with an ISSN for the series and two ISBNs (Germany and USA). They are deposited at the German National Library and collected by Schloss Dagstuhl and some other libraries. Bibliographic registration and reference will be made in the German National Catalogue, Books in Print, Schloss Dagstuhl, and dblp in Trier. Review copies will be made available. We encourage authors to register at ORCID and the ORCID ID (permanent identifier) will be shown as a link on the websites of AKA-Verlag and IOS Press and in the books. We are cooperating with several aggregators on the indexing of books.

There are no publication cost for the authors, except for a fee for color illustrations. DISKI Authors can purchase copies of their books with a 30% author discount.
